The Finnish Customs has issued an official statement that all cars registered in Russia cannot be located in the territory of the Suomi country, a message about this appeared on the official website of the department.
The six-month transition period set aside for Russian citizens to resolve the issue has ended. Recall that on September 16, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a document ordering the removal of vehicles registered in Russia from Finland no later than March 15, 2024. After this date, there should not be a single car registered in our country in Finland. An exception is made only for vehicles belonging to students and people working in this state under a valid fixed-term employment contract. Such cars can continue to stay in Finland. At the same time, their owners are required to have documents with them that confirm the right to use these vehicles on the territory of Finland, and present them to law enforcement officers upon request. The Finnish customs informs about what measures will be applied to violators that the vehicle will be detained, and the crime will be punishable by a fine, but its size will be determined when considering each case individually.
