Aivazovsky Gallery opened in Feodosia after renovation

В Феодосии после ремонта открылась галерея Айвазовского

After three years of reconstruction, the I. K. Aivazovsky Art Gallery opened in Feodosia. Visitors will see an updated exposition, as well as weekend excursions that have never been held before.

During the renovation work, the assembly building was renovated: now it looks almost the same as in the days when the famous marine artist lived and worked in it – during the restoration, scientific research was used to tell about the exterior and interior of this building. So, the ornaments on the walls and the wooden oriental-style balcony located inside the house were restored, the former dark beetroot color was returned to the exhibition hall, and the previously existing “zenith lantern” was installed on the ceiling – natural soft and even lighting, which is very suitable for art galleries.

Recall that in this gallery you can see the world’s largest collection of paintings by I. K. Aivazovsky – 416 canvases. Also in this collection are the creations of Konstantin Bogaevsky and Maximilian Voloshin and the works of Soviet artists – more than 13,000 exhibits in total. The gallery was opened by Ivan Aivazovsky himself in 1880, and then donated to his hometown.

The gallery is located at the address: Feodosia, Galeriynaya Street, house 2. It is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00 (the ticket office is open until 16:15), on Tuesdays from 10:00 to 14:00 (the ticket office is open until 13:15). Wednesday is a day off.
