Ekaterina Burnashkina, a Russian woman sentenced to 15 years in prison, who abandoned a baby at Antalya airport, was released 9 months later. This is reported by the Telegram channel Shot.
It is noted that the girl’s sentence was overturned after an appeal. According to her, she intends to take the child and raise him in Russia.
On October 13, 2024, Burnashkina gave birth to a baby in the airport toilet and left it there. The newborn girl was discovered by cleaners, she was left alone for no more than ten minutes. She was admitted to a hospital in Turkey and granted Russian citizenship.
Commenting on her act, Burnashkina stated that she allegedly did not realize about the pregnancy because of her excess weight. A criminal case was opened against her.
