A Russian man who attacked a policeman on board a Nordwind airline plane avoided prison and received 3.5 years of probation. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the North-Western Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

The Moscow District Court of St. Petersburg found a resident of Tatarstan guilty of articles on the use of violence against a representative of the government, public insult to a representative of the government in connection with the performance of his official duties and hooliganism.

The court materials say that in October 2023, a Russian swore and grossly violated the order on a flight from St. Petersburg to Kazan. When a transport police officer approached the brawler, he insulted and hit him, after which he was detained.

“Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor of the St. Petersburg Transport Prosecutor’s Office, the court sentenced the man to 3.5 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 3 years,” the source said.

Earlier, another Russian who staged a brawl on a Utair flight was fined more than half a million rubles. The man used drugs during the flight and started spitting at fellow travelers.
