A museum dedicated to the history of cheese production in Russia has appeared in the city of Uglich, located in the Yaroslavl region, Interfax reports. It was opened on the basis of the Uglich Cheese and Dairy Plant (USMZ).

During the tour of the museum-factory, tourists will be told how cheese making appeared and developed in our country, guests will see ancient photographs and various documents related to the history of cheese production, as well as learn about other countries famous for famous cheeses. Part of the exposition is devoted to the cheeses produced by the Uglich plant – there are about a dozen of them. And, of course, in the museum, visitors will be offered to taste cheeses under the guidance of a cheese sommelier. The museum has a restaurant “SyrBor”, where you can order dishes with local cheeses. The creators of the museum hope that this exhibition will allow Uglich to regain its fame as a cheese producer and it will be visited by more than 50,000 people every year.

The museum is open all days of the week except Monday. Excursions start at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00 hours.
