A Russian travel blogger who lived in Turkey returned to her homeland and compared prices in the two countries. She shared her observations on a personal blog called “Mom at Sea” on the Zen platform.

The author of the publication explained that since it is incorrect to compare the cost of living in Novosibirsk and Antalya in all respects, she decided to take only the cost of a grocery basket, the cost of her daughter’s education and utilities.

According to the blogger, her daughter goes to a public school in Turkey and studies there for free. But at the same time, she attends classes online at school according to the Russian program, and it costs 34 thousand rubles a year.

“We spend about 6 thousand rubles a month on offline sections in Antalya. In total, our education expenses amount to about 9 thousand rubles per month. It seems to me that many parents in Russia spend much more,” the author suggested.

The Russian woman added that utilities in Antalya cost her family 8.3 thousand rubles a month. “And here I have a feeling that this is not a super—large sum for Russian realities,” she noted.

In addition, the traveler admitted that vegetables in Turkey are cheaper, more diverse, and tastier. She noticed that in Russia there are a lot of different products on the shelves, which are very tasty and attractive, but do not relate to healthy eating. Therefore, she is even glad that there are no such temptations in Turkey.

“Someone lacks hundreds of thousands of rubles to live in Russia, and someone lives on a pension in Turkey. But I can only say for sure that lovers of hiking in restaurants and those who want to teach their children at a private school in Turkey will be very uncomfortable financially,” the Russian concluded.

Earlier, the same travel blogger visited Thailand, went to a local supermarket and admitted that she was shocked by the cost of meat. According to her, the exact same prices were there from 2013 to 2019.
