According to Turdom, in the Hecht Museum in Haifa (Israel), a five—year-old child accidentally broke an ancient artifact – he dropped a jug about 3,500 years old. The boy came on an excursion with his mother.
The exhibit was unique, because usually the dishes used for olive oil and wine are found in the form of fragments, the same vessel was found intact. It has been in the museum for 35 years and has not been fenced.
The museum’s management reacted surprisingly calmly, saying that it had no complaints against visitors. The boy and his mother were invited to return to the tour once again.
At the same time, the museum reminds parents that they must warn children about the rules of visiting and about the prohibition to touch the exhibits with their hands, unless otherwise indicated.
The ancient vessel is planned to be restored.
