Russian Railways is increasing the number of stations with sleep capsules. In the first half of the year, they will appear at the fourth railway station in Moscow. We are talking about Kursk, now there are such “booths” on Yaroslavsky, Kazansky and Vostochny. The project of creating such “capsule hotels” started 1.5 years ago just from the capital. However, this year the monopolist intends to significantly expand the service in the regions.
In the coming months, individual vacation spots will appear in Chelyabinsk, Omsk and Krasnoyarsk. Thus, by the middle of the year, the service will be available in nine cities. Now it is already available in Adler, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Barnaul.
Tourists have repeatedly been confused by the quality of the sleep capsules provided. Most often, this is a sleeping place, similar to a reserved seat, with a blind, a lamp and a socket. In rare cases, for example, at the Eastern Railway Station, you can count on a plastic capsule with a door, where theoretically sound insulation should be better.
“I took one with a curtain in Adler. There is zero sound insulation – the retractable curtain does not even cover the legs to the end, but the mattress is comfortable. I decided that 180 rubles per hour is normal, but I would hardly pay more,” subscribers of the telegram channel “Roof of the Tourist House” share their personal experience.
According to the Russian Railways website, rest in such a capsule will cost from 150 to 250 rubles per hour. The minimum price tag can be obtained if you choose a six-hour tariff. Previously, it was available when buying a three-hour rest, and the offer for half a day was completely removed from the list of offers.
Earlier TourDom.ru He wrote that tourists considered capsules for rest at train stations to be a good idea, but its implementation is lame.
