Editorial Board TourDom.ru analyzed data from leading hotel booking services for the May holidays. There are no big changes in the list of the most popular destinations compared to last year. As before, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sochi, Tatarstan and Kaliningrad are in the top. Moreover, four services unanimously give leadership to the Northern capital. But Moscow, for example, is not even on the second line everywhere. The Krasnodar Territory is more often booked from the Bnovo service.
However, this is a temporary trend. “Moscow is still “free.” But it will still catch up – its tourists prefer to book closer to the dates, guided by the fact that the city has a large number of accommodation facilities and greater transport accessibility,” Bnovo analysts say.
According to the service, Tatarstan and the Kaliningrad Region have almost reached their 2023 download targets. St. Petersburg and Sochi are actively seeking them. Bnovo experts call Crimea the main tourist destination, which has grown in terms of traffic compared to last May – there is already a 4.7-fold increase in traffic.
According to the Ostrovok online hotel and apartment booking service, the most noticeable dynamics are noted in Vladikavkaz and Smolensk – 68% more bookings were made here than by the beginning of April last year, in Krasnodar – by 61%. The rate of bookings in Russia as a whole has increased by more than a quarter this year compared to 2023.
Travelline reported that the longest trips for the May holidays are to Krasnodar Territory and Kislovodsk. Hotels on average book for 5-6 days. Shorter visits are planned to Moscow and St. Petersburg – up to 3 days.
As for the price increase, the conclusions of the services vary here. Bronevik.com It records a general increase in the cost of bookings in Russia by about 8%. At Bnovo, the average check increased by around 10-15%. Ostrovok insists on the dynamics of 16% in Russia as a whole. In some tourist destinations, the figure reaches 20.
Bnovo service is noted for more affordable prices in Crimea – the average cost of bookings is 14% less than a year ago. The Moscow region here also does not bite as much as last May.
