Tourists from Russia who decided to spend their holidays in Istanbul almost fell victim to an unexpected one. They reported the incident on the Zen platform blog.
According to the travelers, before traveling to Turkey, they studied all the popular money-sucking schemes. However, in Istanbul’s Balat district, which was previously considered very poor, they relaxed their vigilance a little. An elderly man was walking towards them. He had a stool and shoe polish in his hands. It seemed that he had accidentally dropped the brush.
“I was about to go get a brush when my husband took my hand and took me aside. At first I didn’t understand the situation, but then it dawned on me – we almost became victims of divorce,” the visitor said.
The publication reports that the grandfather insisted on shining the shoes of those who agreed to help him. Having offered his services, he asked for a fee of about 400-800 rubles.
