By the order of the KGIOP “The administrative building of the precision engineering plant named after Max Gelts (plant of printing machines)” (Prospekt Medikov, 5, lit. C) it is included in the unified state register as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.

The site on which this building is currently located was not built up until 1808 and was part of an Apothecary’s garden. Later, wooden cottages and stone houses were located here in different years. In 1895, the site with buildings was acquired by the engineer-technologist I.A. Semenov. A two-storey brick building for mechanical workshops was built during his reign. At the end of March 1919, the plant of engineer I.A. Semenov was nationalized. In 1922, the plant was named after the leader of the German labor movement, Max Goelz. Since 1986, the plant has been a part of the Leningrad Production Association of Printing Machinery for Lenpoligrafmash.
The construction of the Lenpoligrafmash plant dates back to 1930-1931. The project was developed by architect Nikolai Evgenievich Lancere in collaboration with A.I. Izosimov and Z.A. Krylova. The administrative building of the Lenpoligrafmash plant is a vivid example of the architecture of Leningrad constructivism.
The building is a monolithic reinforced concrete frame with walls made of brick. The architectural solution of the four-storey building, smoothly curved in the southern part, is laconically executed. Expression is achieved by combining the horizontal partitioning of the facade with ribbon glazing and the vertical volume of the stairwell tower. A business center is currently located in the building.
