In March-April 2022, one of the most discussed topics was the question: who left Russia from celebrities, where and for how long? Some of the stars have long migrated abroad on a permanent basis. Others went on planned vacations, vacations or medical treatment. But there are also unexpected emigrants, whose departure has caused the whole country to worry. Which of the celebrities left Russia?

Figuring out which of the artists left Russia and does not intend to return yet, you can find a lot of contradictory information. So far, the main direction of the outflow of stars from the Russian Federation can be called the countries of Western Europe – Latvia, Poland, Estonia.

1. Andrey Karaulov. The TV journalist, the winner of the TEFI Award, the author of his own TV program left Russia in early November for Dubai. On 11/24/2022, he was put on the wanted list. Earlier, Karaulov was searched in connection with the case in which Ksenia Sobchak’s assistant is being held by the accused. At that time, the journalist reported that he was passing by as a witness.
2. Alla Pugacheva. The singer, who returned to Russia at the end of August, left the country again. According to media reports, on September 29, 2022, she flew to Israel with her children from Vnukovo airport. Nothing is known about her future plans yet. But there are already reports in the media that the Prima Donna took the children’s documents from the school and put the castle in the village of Mud up for sale. It is also not reported how long Pugacheva left Russia.
3. Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent). The comedian and TV presenter left the country at the end of February with his wife. At first, the family lived in Israel, in the mansion of Galkin’s brother. Then she moved to Jurmala, from where the comedian began his big tour of foreign countries. His plans include the USA and Canada. Galkin is currently in New Zealand. But he complains on social networks that he is tired of collecting children for school. The comedian has no plans to appear in Russia yet.
4. Nikita Presnyakov. Alla Pugacheva’s grandson and Kristina Orbakaite’s son remained in Russia until recently. But with the announcement of partial mobilization, he left the country. According to media reports, Presnyakov crossed the border with Estonia, using his status as an EU citizen (Lithuania). The singer is currently in the USA. Nothing is known about his plans to return to Russia.
5. Ksenia Sobchak. The TV presenter, journalist, and blogger left Russia on October 26, 2022, after the arrest of her assistant, commercial director Kirill Sukhanov, in an extortion case. According to media reports, Sobchak is wanted, her procedural status is not specified. Ksenia used her passport as an Israeli citizen to get from Belarus to Lithuania. But by the middle of November she returned to Russia.
6. Semyon Slepakov. The famous comedian, bard, ex-member of the KVN team from Pyatigorsk repatriated to Israel, he has such a right due to his origin. Slepakov, according to media reports, moved his parents and grandmother to their new homeland in the spring. It is not known for sure whether Karina, the daughter of Igor Avanesyan, the owner of AK Bars Bank, emigrated with her comedian husband. Now Semyon Slepakov is actively performing in Israel.
7. Boris Akunin (Grigory Chkhartishvili).The writer and translator, author of a series of novels about detective Erast Fandorin, has been living in the UK in recent years. That does not prevent his books from being published in the Russian Federation. On October 21, 2022, it became known that at the request of the Ministry of Culture (according to Akunin himself), his name as the author of the plays was removed from the posters of the RAMT in Moscow and the Alexandrinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. The writer is also deprived of copyright payments, due to the effect of the presidential decree on the temporary introduction of a special procedure for settlements with copyright holders associated with unfriendly countries.
8. Artur Smolyaninov (recognized as a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation). The actor, known for his protest moods, has not received roles in Russian cinema and theater for a long time. He announced his departure to an opposition foreign publication in October 2022. It is known that Smolyaninov crossed the border through one of the European countries, managed to visit Norway. He plans to move to the USA. The actor has no plans to return to Russia.
9. Little Big Band. Since June 2022, the musicians have been asking to call themselves the Los Angeles band. After emigration, the band released another provocative video, this time on a political topic. It starred Ilya Prusikin (recognized as a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) and Sofia Tayurskaya. It is still unknown whether other Little Big members have left Russia.
10. Andrey Makarevich. Back in early March, Andrey Makarevich opened the list of those who left Russia in 2022. The musician, along with his pregnant wife, left for Israel.
11. Alexander Nevzorov. The famous journalist and blogger has been accused by the RF IC of violating the law. Against the background of this news, Nevzorov’s departure looks quite expected. At first, Nevzorov and his wife went to Israel, then settled in Italy. On June 3, 2022, by decree of the President of Ukraine, the journalist and blogger became a citizen of this country. Earlier, the media reported that Nevzorov had applied for Ukrainian citizenship. We are no longer talking about his return to Russia.
12. Alisher Morgenstern (Valeev). The popular performer left Russia before the start of his career, choosing Dubai for his residence. In early July 2022, there were rumors that Morgenstern had returned to Russia, where a criminal case was opened against him by the investigative committee. But it turned out to be only a skillful warm-up to the renaming of the restaurant. This event was attended by the rapper’s double. Morgenstern himself (recognized as a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) continued to entertain subscribers from Dubai. Earlier, it was reported that the shocking performer had applied for Israeli citizenship. Obviously, the road to Russia is still closed for him.
13. Chulpan Khamatova. The actress left the troupe of the Sovremennik theater, left her usual life in Moscow, and went to Latvia. She already has real estate here. And local theaters will be happy to provide a job for an actress of this level.
14. Yuri Dud. One of the most famous YouTube journalists met March 2022 abroad. It turned out to be easy to understand where Dud left Russia. The blogger is currently in Barcelona. He will probably continue to live there.

19. Cantemir Balagov. A young successful filmmaker, who previously signed a successful contract with an American streaming service, left the Russian Federation in March 2022.  
20. Anton Dolin. One of the most respected film critics has also joined the list of celebrities who left Russia in 2022. He is reportedly going to live and work in Latvia.  
21. Mikhail Zygar (recognized as a foreign agent). Journalist, writer, relocated to Berlin. He has no plans to return to Russia.
22. Alexander Rodnyansky (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation). While famous artists who have left Russia for Ukraine, because they have Ukrainian citizenship, are notifying about it on social networks, scandals are shaking the Russian film market. The producer of Kinotavr is no longer related to him. Rodnyansky left for Ukraine, where his homeland is, and many of his projects are now frozen.  
23. Oxymiron (Miron Fedorov, recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation). The rap artist went to Istanbul. He does not plan to return to the Russian Federation.UPD: On September 6, the artist’s manager announced that Oxymiron had returned to Russia.   
24. Avdotya Smirnova and Anatoly Chubais. The news of the departure of one of the most famous politicians of the zero era amazed many. He and his wife are in Turkey. There is no information about the possible return of Chubais or his wife, a famous film director and screenwriter, to the Russian Federation yet. UPD: As of the end of April 2022, Anatoly Chubais and Avdotya Smirnova have settled in Spain. The couple do not intend to return to Russia. Moreover, here Chubais is expected to be interrogated in the RF IC in the case of misuse of funds in the Rusnano corporation previously headed by him.
25. Olga Smirnova. The prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre signed a contract with the Dutch National Ballet in early March. She will dance the first part on the new stage on April 3, in the ballet “Raymonda”. Prima left the Bolshoi Theater before the end of the season, on vacation at her own expense, with the official reason being “injury”. The ballerina’s husband also works abroad, in the financial sector, and he has no plans to return to Russia.
26. Ingeborg Dapkunaite. The actress, known mainly for her roles in Russian cinema, no longer plans to return to Russia. She is currently in Belgium, where her family lives.
27. Elena Bunina. The CEO of Yandex left her post and left Russia in early April. She plans to live and work in Israel.
28. Paulina Andreeva. The actress, the wife of director Fyodor Bondarchuk, was in Turkey on April 5, without her husband and son. Nothing is known about her plans to return to her homeland yet. Bondarchuk also does not comment on the situation.
29. Andrey Razin. The ex-producer of the band “Tender May” left for the USA in early March. He has real estate there. Razin has no plans to return to Russia. On June 23, it became known that Yuri Shatunov, who began his career in the Razin group, died of a heart attack. With the producer, he had long-term trials for the opportunity to perform songs from the repertoire of “Tender May”. But Razin prudently registered all the rights to them in the USA.
30. Nurlan Saburov. The popular stand-up comedian has been in the USA since March. The official reason for departure is called a tour. The comedian has not yet announced his future plans.
31. Kirill Serebrennikov. The scandalous theater and film director left the Russian Federation at the end of March after removing his criminal record. According to telegram channels, he plans to settle in Paris.
32. Michael Schatz. The once-popular comedian left Russia after his ex-wife Tatyana Lazareva. Together with their common children, they plan to continue living in Spain.
33. Anna Sedokova and Janis Timma. The singer, who gained popularity in Russia, moved to the United States after her husband. Here, the basketball player signed a contract with a local team. Sedokova herself has real estate in the USA. One of her daughters lives here with her father.
34. Ksenia Chilingarova. The daughter of the famous polar explorer and deputy of the State Duma Artur Chilingarov, a socialite, chose a new country to live in. In April 2022, Ksenia became an Armenian citizen.
35. Evgeny Kulakov. The star of the TV series “Sled” also left Russia. The actor has starred in the series that made him famous since the inception of the project, but viewers will no longer see their favorite character. Evgeny, together with his son, went to Israel for permanent residence in September 2022. His wife and daughter will join him later, they are completing their business in the Russian Federation.

Wondering how many people have left Russia, it is difficult to ignore the news about the stars beloved by the people. For most of them, the departure became a logical continuation of a planned vacation or an excuse to take a break from a busy schedule.

At the same time, artists and public figures are still planning their return to the Russian Federation. Among them:

1. Grigory Yavlinsky. In early June, there were rumors that the leader of the Yabloko party had left Russia forever. But they were refuted, saying that Yavlinsky had left for 2 weeks on vacation abroad, and would soon return to his homeland.
2. Danya Milokhin. One of the most popular Russian ticktockers, following his producer Yaroslav Andreev, moved to Kazakhstan. There are no restrictions on the operation of social networks, and you can shoot and post new videos. There have already been reports that Milokhin is applying for citizenship of Kazakhstan and buying real estate in the country. The blogger himself does not comment on these rumors.
3. Gennady Khazanov and Leonid Yarmolnik. Old friends even plan vacations with their families together. In March 2022, their appearance in Jurmala on a walk raised many questions. But instead of a sensation, journalists received information that both actors intend to return home soon. 
4. Ivan Urgant. The television show “Evening Urgant” has been put on pause. And his permanent presenter went to Israel, for the first time in a long time left without the oppression of a busy schedule of daily filming. Urgant has now left Russia, but plans to return to work later. UPD: Ivan Urgant and his family, according to his father, the famous actor Andrei Urgant, had already returned to Moscow from Israel by March 25.
5. Semyon Slepakov. The screenwriter, director and producer managed to travel to Israel and return. And at the same time he recorded a new song with a guitar, as a response to the haters who suspected Slepakov of emigration.
6. Ksenia Sobchak. The scandalous media personality went to Turkey with her son back in early March. She is currently in Israel. While everyone is discussing how long Sobchak has left Russia, her husband, Konstantin Bogomolov, continues his work in the theater. UPD: Ksenia returned to Russia in early April. But after obtaining Israeli citizenship, the journalist left for the Promised Land again on April 10.
7. Alexander Vasiliev. The famous TV presenter and fashion historian has been living in two countries for a long time. He’s in France now. But he promises to return to Russia as soon as filming of TV shows with his participation resumes. Entertainment projects are currently on pause.
8. Olga Buzova. The actress, singer and TV presenter managed to excite the public with rumors about her departure. As it turned out, Olga was really absent from the Russian Federation. And the trip was to Belarus. Now she is already at home in St. Petersburg, spending time with her family. 
9. Nyusha. The singer and her husband stayed in Dubai after the second birth. And so far we have decided to live here, in a warm climate, in an attractive investment area. 
10. Isa.The TV presenter and well-known blogger announced her departure from Russia in March 2022. But a few weeks later, she already reported problems with returning to the country from Israel – flights are canceled, there are difficulties with buying tickets. 
11. Emmanuel Vitorgan. Together with his wife and daughters, the Soviet and Russian actor went to his wife’s homeland, Jurmala.
12. Elena Blinovskaya. The scandalous coach and creator of the “Marathon of Desires” spends time in Dubai. She is not thinking about a possible return yet.
13. Dima Bilan. In mid-March, the popular singer found himself in Turkey without unnecessary statements on the Internet. The pop singer decided to calm down the fans who started talking about emigration after returning home in April. It turned out that the singer underwent a planned operation in Turkey, and is now recuperating at home.

Who has not lived in Russia for a long time

Among Russian celebrities, there are many who have been in their homeland for a long time only on business or with concerts. Among them:

1. Boris Grebenshchikov (Israel). The musician has long preferred a comfortable life in foreign countries to the expanses of his homeland. Since the beginning of his career, Grebenshchikov has not appeared in Russia. Now he lives in Israel, and often communicates with Andrei Makarevich and Alla Pugacheva.
2. Oleg Tinkov (USA, Cyprus).The Russian entrepreneur, founder of Tinkoff Bank, is originally from the Kemerovo region, but has not lived in the Russian Federation for a long time. His only real estate here is a cottage in the Astrakhan region. Tinkov’s foreign assets are much more impressive: from a villa in Italy to Mexican lands. However, it is quite difficult to call an entrepreneur a Russian. He also holds U.S. and Cypriot citizenship, and spends most of his time in London, where his children study. Judging by recent statements, Tinkov has no plans to live in Russia. However, he may not be able to return. At the end of February 2022, the State Duma already raised the issue of depriving a businessman of Russian citizenship.
3. Gennady Gudkov (Bulgaria). The former leader of one of the Duma parties, a retired FSB colonel, an oppositionist, has been living outside Russia for many years. Gudkov has a house in London, but he lives mainly in Varna. Nothing is known about the politician’s second citizenship.
4. Irina Shayk (USA). The model has long been a “citizen of the world”. Today she’s having breakfast in Milan, and tomorrow she’s shooting for a magazine in the Caribbean. The star has considered the USA his home for many years.
5. Mark Feigin (Lithuania). (recognized as a foreign agent by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation) Deprived of the status of a lawyer, and now a journalist lives in Vilnius, where he continues to conduct anti-Russian activities.
6. Natalia Vetlitskaya (Spain).A singer who left the peak of her popularity in the 90s of the XX century. She has been living in Spain for a long time, and in Russia she only visits.
7. Valery Leontiev (USA). The singer returned to the country that became his second homeland in March 2022. Here, he and his wife purchased real estate in Miami.

14. Veronika Belotserkovskaya (France). You should not expect the legendary Belonika to return to Russia soon. She continues to live in France in the status of a defendant in a criminal case on fakes. However, she continues to teach cooking classes and schools in Europe, not too saddened by this news. 
15. Roman Abramovich (Portugal, Great Britain).The owner of a considerable number of assets in different countries of the world, not so long ago Roman Abramovich received Portuguese citizenship. However, he has not limited himself to one country for a long time. In Russia, the oligarch does not happen too often.
16. Tatiana Lazareva (Spain). The TV presenter, who bought real estate abroad for a long time, is raising her youngest daughter in warm Spain. She does not plan to return to Russia.
17. Anna Netrebko (Austria). The famous opera vocalist hails from the Krasnodar Territory, but has long had dual citizenship: Russia and Austria. However, given her recent statements, the singer clearly expects to continue her career in Europe. She announced the resumption of performances in May on her social networks. Against the background of this news, the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater terminated the contract with Netrebko. Previously, the singer had already lost her job at the Metropolitan Opera and the Bavarian State Opera. The contractual relationship with the Mariinsky Theatre remains in force for the time being. But how Anna, who lives in Europe, will perform them is still unknown. In the plans of the Mariinsky, the opera star is announced as one of the participants of the Stars of the White Nights festival.
18. Alexey Panin (Spain). The infamous Russian actor, whose popularity fell on the two thousandth years, has not lived in Russia for a long time. Together with his new wife and daughter, Panin settled in Spain in 2020, becoming its citizen. He has no plans to return to Russia.
19. Pavel Durov (UAE). The founder of the VKontakte network and the owner of the Telegram messenger was born in St. Petersburg, but left his native land a long time ago. Where is Durov now? He has been living in the UAE for the last 10 years. His company’s headquarters are also located here. Durov also has the citizenship of the state of Saint Kitts and Nevis obtained under the investment program, which many digital nomads choose for themselves, as well as a French passport (from 2021). According to the latest information, Pavel has no plans to return to Russia. Moreover, he asks that he no longer be classified as a Russian businessman. For a UAE tax resident, this is quite logical, but previously the businessman had not been noticed in such categorical statements.

Many Russian athletes also continue their careers abroad. Alexander Ovechkin and Evgeny Malkin remain in the United States. Tennis player Daniil Medvedev performs at tournaments. They don’t see any reason to return to Russia yet.

Who is no longer welcome in Russia
