Tourists were informed about a new opportunity to replenish plastic cards issued by banks in Kyrgyzstan. Over the past couple of years, Russian citizens have been actively using such cards to travel abroad after blocking domestic cards. Last week, credit institutions in a neighboring country limited the possibility of transfers from the Russian Federation by phone number, which was very convenient. The only option after that was transactions using card details, but in this case the money was received only a day later.

There was an equally simple alternative than the SBP: replenishment by card number. The BEAC automatically informed interested tourists about this opportunity. Today, some of them received similar messages: “Earlier you transferred money to Kyrgyzstan by phone number. Now it can be done by the card number.”

Users have tested in practice: everything works. Moreover, the money is credited to the foreign account of tourists in a matter of minutes. Why customers from the Russian Federation met halfway remains a mystery. Perhaps the country’s banks decided not to delay the restrictions for a long time.
