Imagine that you are sipping hot fragrant coffee next to the pool, where beautiful goldfish are splashing around, which you can feed with your hands. This is how koi carp cafes are set up in Vietnam. In Ho Chi Minh City, a vibrant Vietnamese metropolis, there are already about a dozen cafes with koi carp, where visitors have the opportunity to sit in close proximity to colorful fish.
Koi Melody Cafe is one of the newest goldfish cafes in Ho Chi Minh City: it was opened only about a year ago. As in most Vietnamese koi carp cafes, there is a shallow pond full of colorful fish and dotted with small “islands” where visitors can enjoy various drinks and treats.
King Koi Coffee Garden is another relatively new, but already extremely popular koi carp cafe, inspired by the design of a natural park in Singapore, Gardens by the Bay. It includes about 10 interconnected circular “islands” in a pond filled with koi fish that can literally be touched.
New Koi Coffee is another popular goldfish cafe, which is very similar to Koi Melody, it has recreation areas separated by shallow channels filled with koi carp.
Dao Koi Coffee Garden is an outdoor cafe with koi carp, which is called an oasis in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, as it provides guests with welcome coolness in summer. This place is usually visited by families: canals filled with koi carp are a favorite entertainment for children.
The list can be continued, for example, Queen Koi Coffee Garden, KOI Sakura Coffee, KOI Coffee Garden ISLAND or Royal Koi Garden Coffee, but in fact there is no point in going into details about each of them, because they are all created according to the same principle: a pond with carp and small “islands”, where visitors can relax while fish swim around them.
Ho Chi Minh City is not the only city in Vietnam and in the world where there are such establishments, but the number of koi cafes in it is the largest.
The cleanliness of the fish channels is striking: they are equipped with a waterproofing system and a water filtration system that keep them in good condition.
