The strike of air traffic controllers at Antalya airport will last until July 14. It has already caused delays on many flights, including flights to Russia.
This is stated in the statement of the HTK-SEN industry trade union.
The participants of the action called Inisiyatif Almadan Çalışma (“Work without initiative”) decided to extend the strike after their demands for higher salaries and better working conditions were ignored by the Civil Aviation Administration and the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to one of the protesters, the action will affect not only Antalya airport, but also other aviation companies in the country.
Antalya Airport carries peak loads at the height of the season, and in terms of indicators higher than last year, which leads to flight delays of up to 14 hours.
