Map of Thailand
Thailand is a country located in southeast Asia. It is found on the peninsulas of Malacca and Indochina. Thailand borders Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Cambodia. The country is washed by the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The northern part of the country has green mountain slopes, and the south has beautiful beaches and islands. The highest point in the country is Mount Doi Itharon, which is located in Chiang Mai Province. Its height is 2,596 meters. The capital of Thailand, Bangkok, is located in the center of the country on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand. North of Bangkok, the country’s territory continues along the isthmus of the peninsula. There are a huge number of beaches here. One of the largest cities in this region is Hatyai, but it is not particularly popular among tourists. They are much more interested in Phuket Island, which is located in the western part of the country in the Andaman Sea. Hua Hin, which is located a little south of Bangkok, is also popular with visitors. Almost all parts of the country are connected by railway lines, so there will be no problems with movement. There are few rivers and lakes in Thailand. As for a territory the size of France, there are a minimum of them here. There are several rivers: Wang, Peel, Mehong and others, and a couple of large lakes. The rest of the reservoirs are quite insignificant. There are practically no reservoirs on the isthmus in the southern part of the country, if you do not take into account the bay from the east and the sea from the west side. Part of the isthmus is occupied by the territory of Myanmar, and in the southern part the country borders with Malaysia. A significant part of Thailand’s territory is plain. The mountainous area is only in the northern part of the country. As already mentioned, Thailand is a fairly large country, only slightly inferior in size to France. The population is mainly concentrated in Bangkok and the immediate periphery. And tourists mostly focus on the island regions. Map of Thailand:
