A bill has been submitted to the State Duma, according to which it is proposed to introduce an “entry fee” for foreigners who come to Russia without a visa.

It is assumed that the amount and procedure of the collection will be determined by the government. If a foreign citizen does not pay the fee, he will be denied entry to Russia. It is proposed not to extend the innovation to transit passengers.
“I hope that during the discussion of the bill, the concepts of “tourists” and “migrants” who enter the country will be clearly separated Russia without visas, and there are really a lot of them. If this bill is passed, it is necessary to make sure that those tourists who can enter on visa-free lists in Russia are not affected Russia is China, Iran and, presumably, India,” the press service of the Russian Union of Travel Industry quotes a member of the PCT Board Marina Levchenko.
According to the expert, if the “entry fee” is extended to tourists, it may negatively affect the incoming tourist flow in Russia.
